HTX Research has published a report analyzing stock-linked memecoins, a new asset class emerging on the Robinhood Chain. These tokens are paired with stock assets like NVDA, TSLA, HIMS, and MU, using them as liquidity bases or narrative anchors. The report examines how these instruments combine equity price discovery with crypto-native sentiment and automated market maker (AMM) structures.
The ecosystem relies on the Robinhood Chain, Uniswap, and the O1 Launchpad to facilitate token creation and trading. As of September 8, 2026, DeFiLlama recorded approximately $901 million in total value locked (TVL) on the Robinhood Chain, with 24-hour decentralized exchange volume reaching $1.727 billion. The structure allows for multi-hop routing, where single trades generate fees across multiple pools.
The study warns that high annualized percentage yields (APY), sometimes exceeding 100,000%, are often misleading. These figures result from short observation windows, low TVL, and compounding effects rather than sustainable returns. The researchers propose using a fee-coverage multiple to assess profitability, which accounts for risks like impermanent loss and token depreciation.
The long-term viability of this market depends on four factors: the migration of Robinhood users onchain, the stability of stock-token pricing during market closures, the development of two-sided liquidity depth, and the ability of AMMs to maintain volume after subsidies decrease. Without these conditions, the current activity may prove to be a temporary experiment.
