HPE has confirmed that its new ProLiant DL585a Gen13 server will support the upcoming NVIDIA Rubin PCIe GPU. This information was disclosed in a presentation shared by the company with media outlets.

The standard data center version of the Rubin GPU utilizes an SMX form factor with a power consumption of 2300W. Experts suggest that a PCIe version would likely require a significant reduction in GPU scale and clock speeds to fit within standard power limits.

Alternatively, the Rubin PCIe variant might be part of the RTX PRO series, potentially utilizing the rumored GR202 core. This architecture is expected to be shared with the next generation of GeForce gaming graphics cards.

The ProLiant DL585a Gen13 server features a 10U chassis design. It is equipped with two AMD EPYC 9006 processors and supports up to eight double-width or 16 single-width expansion cards, alongside 16 EDSFF E3.S drive bays.
