HP has launched the EliteBoard G2a, a keyboard-integrated computer featuring AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 series processors. The device includes a dedicated NPU capable of 50 TOPS for AI tasks, supporting up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and 2TB of M.2 NVMe storage. It measures 358.1 x 118.7 x 17.9 mm and weighs approximately 670 grams.
The entry-level model, priced at $3028, features the Ryzen AI 5 PRO 435 processor with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The high-end version, equipped with the Ryzen AI 7 PRO 450 processor and 32GB of RAM, starts at approximately $4167. These prices represent a significant increase compared to the first-generation G1a model.
Connectivity options include one USB4 port (up to 40Gbps), one USB-C port (up to 10Gbps), Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0. The device comes with a 65W power adapter and an optional 32Wh internal battery for limited mobile use. HP targets enterprise environments, focusing on space-saving benefits for shared desks and flexible office setups.
The integration of the motherboard, processor, and cooling system into a keyboard chassis presents challenges for maintenance and heat management. Since the keyboard is a high-wear peripheral, potential liquid spills or hardware failures could impact the entire computing unit. The device requires an external display to function as a complete system.
