HP has unveiled its new OmniBook 5 laptop, which is set to compete in the 14-inch segment. The device will be available in four distinct color options: peony pink, starlit blue, smoke silver, and soft honeydew. The base model, priced at $699.99, features an Intel Core 5 320 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage.

The laptop is equipped with a 14-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. While the company claims a battery life of up to 42 hours during local video playback, the initial display panels are rated at 300 nits. The device weighs 2.56 pounds, making it lighter than comparable models like the Dell 14S and Acer Swift Air 14.

Supply chain constraints have impacted the rollout of certain configurations. While 8GB and 16GB RAM versions are available at launch, a 12GB RAM option and a 1TB storage variant are scheduled for release in November. Furthermore, a high-end 2560 x 1600 OLED touchscreen panel with 620 nits brightness is expected to ship in March 2027.
