The upcoming Honor Magic 9 series introduces the ARRI Cinema Mode, designed to replace traditional Live Photos. This feature enables users to capture three-second video clips by holding down the shutter button, offering manual control over the start and end points of the recording to better track moving subjects or adjust framing.
To achieve a cinematic aesthetic, the recorded videos utilize a 2.39:1 aspect ratio, mirroring standard theatrical formats. Furthermore, the device integrates the full ARRI Look Library, which provides users with nine distinct themes and 87 variations for color grading and visual styling.
Security features on the Honor Magic 9 have also been upgraded. The manufacturer confirmed the implementation of a dual 3D biometric system, which combines 3D ultrasonic fingerprint recognition with 3D facial recognition. Honor describes this specific combination of security technologies as an industry-first solution.
