Honor is set to unveil its Magic 9 flagship series in China on September 28. Ahead of the official launch, industry insider Digital Chat Station revealed key specifications for the base model of the upcoming smartphone lineup.

The device features a 6.37-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution and an integrated ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. The camera system includes a 200-megapixel main sensor with a 1/1.4-inch optical format, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 200-megapixel periscope module with a 1/1.56-inch sensor.

The new model marks the first time Honor has equipped a base flagship with two 200-megapixel sensors. In comparison, the previous Magic 8 model utilized 50-megapixel main and ultra-wide cameras alongside a 64-megapixel telephoto lens.

The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, the same processor found in the current Magic 8. Reports suggest that the more advanced Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 will be reserved exclusively for the high-end Magic 9 Pro Max variant.

The device is expected to feature a high-capacity battery described as being at the 8000 mAh level. These details come from Digital Chat Station, a source previously known for accurate leaks regarding the Xiaomi 15 series and other mobile hardware.
