Honor has clarified the infrared remote control capabilities of its latest flagship series. While all models in the Magic 9 lineup feature built-in infrared functionality, the top-tier Magic 9 Pro Max model includes a specialized, upgraded version of this hardware.
According to Honor engineer Cao Gong, the Pro Max variant is equipped with a 360-degree infrared remote control system. This exclusive feature allows users to operate smart home devices from anywhere within a room without the need to point the smartphone directly at the equipment.
The clarification followed user inquiries regarding the absence of a visible infrared emitter port on the chassis of the new devices. The company confirmed that the technology is integrated into the design across the entire series, with the Pro Max offering the most advanced implementation for broader coverage.
