Honor has officially launched the Magic 9 series in China, featuring the new Magic 9 Pro Max flagship. The device introduces a redesigned camera module inspired by the 1937 Arriflex 35 three-lens turret, marking the first flagship release under the company's partnership with Arri.
The camera system includes a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 200-megapixel 3.5x telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens. Collaboration with Arri enables features such as Arri LogC3 recording, 14 preset Arri Look LUTs, and support for the APV 10-bit 4:2:2 codec.
The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. Honor claims the new camera island design provides space for an 8,800mAh battery, which incorporates 40 percent silicon content to increase capacity.
Additional hardware includes a square-format selfie camera with landscape and portrait capture capabilities, alongside a directional microphone. The device also supports proprietary G200 and G500 teleconverter lenses and a custom SmallRig video kit.
While the series is currently available in China, Honor has confirmed plans for an international release. The company has not yet announced specific dates for the global launch of the Magic 9 Pro Max.
