Honda has unveiled the 2027 Civic Type R, featuring mechanical and interior updates for the US market. The vehicle includes a redesigned front fascia with a larger grille and deeper splitter to enhance cooling and downforce. The suspension damping in +R mode has been reworked for improved handling, while the brake pedal now features a yoke spring for better feedback.
The 2027 model retains its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and manual transmission, with a refined rev-matching system for faster response. Exterior changes include a new Meteorite Gray Metallic color option. The interior now comes standard with heated front seats, Ultrasuede dashboard trim, and additional USB-C ports.
Technological upgrades include an auto-dimming rearview mirror, improved adaptive cruise control, and the introduction of post-collision braking. The vehicle also integrates Google services, including Maps and Play. These updates arrive as Honda discontinues the Civic Type R in Europe due to stricter emissions regulations.
The 2027 Honda Civic Type R is priced at $49 990, including destination and handling fees, marking a $1 300 increase from the previous model year. The updated hatchback will be available at US dealerships later this month. Honda is also hinting at a future production version based on the HRC Concept.
