Honda China has announced a strategic shift in its vehicle development, focusing on local partnerships to accelerate electrification and intelligent features. The company confirmed that starting in 2027, new models will feature Momenta advanced driver assistance systems and Huawei HarmonyOS cockpits.

The automaker is also restructuring its supply chain to prioritize domestic components. By 2028, Honda plans to increase the local procurement rate for its vehicles to over 99 percent, significantly reducing reliance on international suppliers for its Chinese market operations.

Future vehicle development will leverage platforms from Dongfeng Group and GAC Group. The first new energy vehicle incorporating these partner technologies, including powertrain units, is scheduled for release in 2027, with a rapid expansion of the lineup planned thereafter.

The company has adopted a collaborative development model for its R&D efforts. This structure integrates resources from Chinese partners, joint ventures, and Honda itself to ensure that products are tailored to the specific requirements of the local market.
