Honda China reported sales of 25,564 vehicles in September, marking a 53.1% decline compared to the same period last year. Despite the drop, the company maintains its commitment to the Chinese market, viewing it as a critical hub for its electrification and intelligent technology transformation.

The company has entered into strategic partnerships with Momenta and Huawei to enhance its vehicle intelligence. Starting in 2027, new Honda models will feature Momenta’s advanced driver assistance systems and Huawei’s HarmonyOS cockpit solutions.

Honda plans to deepen its local integration by reaching a 99% local procurement rate for its vehicles by 2028. The company is also shifting its development strategy to a tripartite model involving Honda, its joint ventures, and local Chinese partners.

The first new energy vehicle incorporating technology from these partners is scheduled for release in 2027. Future product lineups will be built on platforms developed by Dongfeng Group and GAC Group, with plans to rapidly expand the range of offerings after the initial launch.
