Honda has become the first automotive manufacturer to receive a five-star rating in the FIA Road Safety Index. This assessment evaluates corporate governance regarding safety planning, performance monitoring, and reporting processes rather than individual vehicle crash-test results.

To achieve the top score on the newly expanded five-star scale, Honda successfully completed three additional FIA modules. These requirements covered safety culture management, performance monitoring, and comprehensive coverage of products, services, and supply chains.

The audit encompassed Honda's operations across 17 countries, accounting for over 90 percent of the company's global motorcycle and automobile sales. The FIA highlighted the manufacturer's ambitious safety targets and its structured approach to measuring safety impact.

This governance rating serves as an independent verification for fleet operators and corporate buyers evaluating a manufacturer's global safety commitments. It remains distinct from standard regulatory crash testing, such as those conducted by NHTSA or IIHS.
