Hesai introduced Kosmo, a 3D world data engine, during its event in Shanghai on October 14. The platform is designed to convert physical environments into high-fidelity 3D digital spaces, aiming to provide infrastructure for training Physical AI models.
The system utilizes lidar, imaging, and motion data to capture real-world locations. It then processes this information to create 3D scenes, incorporating AI-driven completion and object labeling to ensure the assets are ready for simulation and development.
Kosmo supports open access to raw capture data and 3D assets. It integrates with industry-standard tools such as NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Unreal Engine, RenderMan, and Houdini to facilitate workflows in robotics, media, and spatial commerce.
Hesai provides a combination of hardware-and-software solutions alongside spatial-data services. The company has already established partnerships with Galbot and Dexmal to focus on the advancement of embodied AI technologies.
