Hesai Technology introduced its new MT series LiDAR at the InterGEO 2026 event in Munich. The product is designed for high-precision modeling and is currently the smallest device in its class. The unit features a diameter of approximately 6 cm and weighs 300 g, representing a 40% reduction in volume and weight compared to the previous XT model.
The MT series incorporates an upgraded laser emission module and refined optical design. At a distance of 20 meters, the laser spot area is 70% smaller than that of the XT. This improvement allows for more precise mapping of object boundaries and structural details, which reduces data noise and enhances the quality of 3D modeling outputs.
The device offers a ranging accuracy of 3.5 mm, a 30% improvement over the predecessor. It utilizes 'infinitely uniform encryption scanning' technology, which increases sampling density over time to capture more spatial details. The system also features a maximum field of view of 320 degrees by 60 degrees, covering 1.5 times more vertical area than the XT.
These technical advancements aim to improve data collection efficiency in large-scale architectural projects, industrial facilities, and complex outdoor environments. By providing clearer point cloud surfaces and more accurate geometric contours, the MT series is positioned to support demanding high-precision surveying and mapping applications.
