Haval Motor Manufacturing Rus, a subsidiary of Great Wall Motor, has launched a new transmission plant in the Uzlovaya industrial park, Tula region. The facility covers 35,000 square meters and has a production capacity exceeding 180,000 automatic transmissions per year. The plant operates on a full-cycle basis, including heat and mechanical treatment of components.

The production process features an automation level of up to 86% for assembly and up to 92% for logistics and specific manufacturing tasks. The project has created approximately 500 new jobs. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the facility is capable of supplying transmissions to other market participants beyond the Haval brand.

The investment in the new facility is estimated at approximately 30 ₽ billion. This project is part of a broader special investment contract signed with the Russian government in 2020, which originally stipulated a total investment of 42 ₽ billion. The company plans to complete a larger auto component complex by 2027, covering 130,000 square meters.

Haval has been producing vehicles in the Tula region since 2019, with over 500,000 cars manufactured to date. The current lineup includes six models, with an annual production capacity of 150,000 vehicles. The company previously expanded its local footprint by opening an engine plant in 2024 and a dedicated engine component machining workshop in 2025.
