Vietnamese electric mobility firm Green SM has launched a pilot taxi service in Amsterdam. This marks the company's second European market following its entry into Copenhagen, Denmark, in July 2026. The Netherlands is now the eighth global market for the operator, which utilizes VinFast electric vehicles for its fleet.
The pilot program initially covers the Centrum, West, and Zuid districts of Amsterdam. Green SM plans to expand operations to Oost, Noord, Nieuw-West, and Zuidoost as it builds its driver network and refines service standards. The company has established a local operating office to manage its Dutch activities.
Green SM employs an integrated model, providing both the electric vehicles and the mobility platform. The company offers drivers employment or rental arrangements, with rental-based drivers eligible to receive up to 85% of trip revenue. Currently, customers can access introductory discounts of 50% per trip, capped at €30, for up to 10 rides.
This expansion builds upon the presence of VinFast in the Netherlands, which began in 2022 when the automaker selected Amsterdam as its regional headquarters. VinFast has previously showcased its electric buses at Busworld Europe and introduced models like the VF 8 and VF 9 to the European market.
