Great Wall Motors has officially opened pre-orders for the Tank 300 Hook Road, a specialized version of its popular SUV designed for extreme off-road conditions. The vehicle is named after the Hook Road trail, a challenging route where the model has already demonstrated its capabilities.

The most significant technical upgrade is the chassis redesign. The manufacturer replaced the standard independent front suspension with a solid axle setup on both the front and rear. This modification allows the vehicle to be equipped with 40-inch off-road tires.

The powertrain features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. It delivers a maximum power output of 170 kW, which is equivalent to 231 horsepower, and provides 400 N·m of torque. Great Wall Motors has not yet disclosed further technical specifications or equipment details.

Before the commercial launch, the company engaged professional off-road enthusiasts to test the vehicle on difficult terrain. Tank brand head Gu Yukun stated that the development of such extreme vehicles relies on feedback from the community alongside engineering efforts.
