Great Wall Motor announced that the Tank 300 Hook Road edition will open for blind pre-orders on September 15 at 20:00. The vehicle is marketed as the first mass-produced Chinese off-road model to reach the summit of the Hook Road Red Peak, one of the world's three major off-road landmarks.

The primary technical upgrade involves replacing the standard model's front double-wishbone independent suspension with a solid axle non-independent suspension. This configuration creates a dual solid axle chassis layout, which allows the vehicle to accommodate large 40-inch off-road tires.

CEO of the Tank brand, Gu Yukun, confirmed that the Hook Road edition is a factory-produced model. Before the official launch, the company provided vehicles to professional off-road enthusiasts for climbing tests to evaluate the car's limits and modification potential.

The vehicle is equipped with a 2.0T high-performance engine. It delivers a maximum power output of 170kW and a peak torque of 400N·m. Further configuration details for the new model have not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer.
