The Dutch AgTech startup Gravity Gardens has raised €2.6 million in a seed funding round. The investment combines equity financing with regional development funding from EFRO. Key participants in the round include VP Capital, Brightlands Venture Partners, Graduate Ventures, and several private investors. This latest injection of capital brings the company's total funding to over €3 million, following previous support from StartLife and a Rabobank innovation loan.

Founded in 2024 by CEO Paulino Valdés and CTO Robin Le Vigouroux, the company has developed a dry, chemical-free seed activation technology. The process aims to improve crop vigour and establishment without the need for water or coatings. The technology was developed with support from the ESA BIC Noordwijk. Gravity Gardens currently operates a research and production facility in Nijmegen and collaborates with partners including Vertify, HLB, Oost NL, and Foodvalley.

The company intends to use the new funds to scale its operations and develop industrial-scale equipment in partnership with the Dutch engineering firm Demcon. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to expand trial programs to new crop varieties. Gravity Gardens expects to achieve market readiness for its technology by 2027, aiming to provide a cost-effective alternative to traditional wet priming methods used in the agricultural industry.
