Grand-Trade, a supplier of food and non-food imports, has completed the implementation of Data Ocean Governance EMM and DQ solutions from vendor Data Sapience. The project aimed to address data quality issues, such as duplicates and missing information, which previously caused inaccurate reporting and financial losses.

The implementation included the creation of a business glossary and an automated system for data validation by owners. The new architecture allows the company to assign a monetary value to specific data errors, enabling the prioritization of fixes based on financial impact.

Business users can now monitor data status in real-time via dashboards without programming skills. The system automates notification workflows for data approval, replacing manual oversight and reducing the risk of missed tasks.

Future plans for Grand-Trade include automating data transformation mapping, tracking data lineage, and mapping data to the IT landscape. The company also intends to implement stricter controls over database structures and unauthorized changes.
