Grab Holdings is acquiring a 60% stake in the Singapore-based buy-now-pay-later platform Atome Financial for $1,49 billion. This deal values Atome Financial at over $2 billion. In 2025, Atome reported $470 million in revenue, marking an 80% year-over-year increase, and has achieved pre-tax profitability for two consecutive years.
This acquisition is the largest financial services deal for Grab to date. It follows other recent investments by the company in 2026, including a 50.1% stake in Stash Financial for $425 million and the purchase of Foodpanda’s Taiwan operations for $600 million. In total, Grab has committed over $2,5 billion to acquisitions within a short period.
As of Q1 2026, Grab’s gross loan portfolio stood at $1,44 billion, while its financial services segment reported an adjusted EBITDA loss of $17 million. The company aims to leverage Atome’s merchant network and credit assessment tools to accelerate the scaling of its lending operations amid competition from rivals like GoTo and Sea Limited.
Grab’s stock has declined by 39% in 2026, with shares trading at approximately $3,02 and a market capitalization of nearly $12,4 billion. This follows the company's SPAC debut in late 2021, when it was valued at over $40 billion. Advance Intelligence Group will retain a minority stake in Atome Financial upon the deal's completion.
