Gotion High-Tech has secured a contract to supply 6GWh of energy storage solutions for Saudi Arabia's first large-scale battery storage project. The company will provide full-system solutions for three major energy storage sites in the region.
The project operates under a Build-Own-Operate model, requiring long-term durability. Gotion High-Tech has developed a customized, integrated energy storage system designed to withstand the harsh Middle Eastern climate, characterized by extreme heat, drought, and frequent sandstorms.
The system utilizes the company's proprietary Qianyuan intelligent storage technology, which features modular integration and intelligent battery management. The equipment is engineered to operate in temperatures ranging from -30 to 55 degrees Celsius, with specific protections against sand and high heat.
Once operational, the storage facilities will capture excess solar energy during the day and release it during peak demand hours. This infrastructure aims to balance renewable energy generation with grid requirements, improving the integration and flexibility of renewable power in Saudi Arabia.
