Google has confirmed that its new Googlebook laptops running Googlebook OS currently face compatibility limitations with Android applications when equipped with Intel processors. This update follows previous claims from the company that the entire Play Store library would be fully supported on the new hardware.
The company stated that a small number of Android applications and games require additional optimization from developers to function correctly on Intel-based devices. This is largely because many Android apps were originally designed for Arm architecture, which is natively supported by Qualcomm chips.
While the majority of applications run without issues on both Intel and Qualcomm platforms, Google has not provided a specific list of affected apps, the exact number of incompatible titles, or a timeline for when these compatibility issues will be resolved.
Currently, three out of the five Googlebook models released to the market are powered by Intel processors. Google is collaborating with Intel, Qualcomm, and software developers to improve performance and expand compatibility across its entire device portfolio.
