Google has released the Android 17 QPR3 Beta 1 update for its Pixel device lineup, ranging from the Pixel 6a to the upcoming Pixel 11 series. The update, which focuses on system stability, is available for the Pixel 6a, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 series, as well as the Pixel Tablet. Build numbers vary by device, with the Pixel 11 series receiving version DP11.260918.005, while other models are updated to DP11.260918.006.
The patch addresses several critical bugs, including a system freeze issue occurring after fingerprint unlocking and crashes triggered by facial recognition settings. Connectivity improvements include fixes for modem-related cellular service loss, silent eSIM profile deactivation, and Wi-Fi background reconnection failures.
Further refinements target media and interface performance. The update resolves issues with screen rotation during external monitor use in desktop mode, front camera usage during screen recording, and various Bluetooth and audio output glitches. Additionally, the release fixes UI bugs such as misaligned icons, spacing errors in app menus, and crashes during app startup or navigation.
The QPR3 update represents the third quarterly platform release for the Android system, which Google distributes every three months. These updates typically include security patches, bug fixes, and minor feature optimizations, with Pixel devices serving as the primary targets for the initial beta testing phase.
