Google has officially introduced the Fitbit Edge, a new fitness-focused wearable device. The tracker features a 1.34-inch AMOLED touchscreen with an always-on display capability. Users can choose from four distinct color options: silver, gray, gold, and black.
The device is equipped with a comprehensive sensor suite, including heart rate, blood oxygen, and skin temperature monitoring, as well as ECG functionality. It also integrates a built-in GPS module, allowing for activity tracking without a smartphone connection.
The Fitbit Edge is powered by a 65mAh battery, which provides up to one week of usage on a single charge. The hardware is rated for 5 ATM water resistance. Additional features include notification support, music control, and basic tools like alarms and timers.
The new wearable is priced at €179.99. While it offers essential fitness and health tracking capabilities, the company notes that its feature set is more limited compared to full-fledged smartwatches.
