Google has officially removed the option to sign in to the Google Health app using Fitbit credentials. This change follows a multi-year transition period during which the company repeatedly urged users to migrate their data to Google accounts.
The update is implemented in version 5.08 of the Google Health app. Users who failed to complete the migration process before the final deadline face the permanent deletion of any data that remained associated with their legacy Fitbit accounts.
The company first announced plans to phase out the independent Fitbit login system nearly five years ago. While the legacy account infrastructure is now retired, the Fitbit brand remains active within specific health-related products under the Google ecosystem.
