Google has released the Android 17 QPR2 Beta 6 update, identified by build version vCP41.260831.007. The rollout covers devices ranging from the Pixel 6a to the Pixel 11 series. The primary focus of this release is to address system stability and resolve several critical bugs reported by users during the testing phase.

The update specifically targets an issue causing unexpected reboots on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, which was linked to third-party apps initializing the camera viewfinder. Additionally, Google fixed a kernel crash that occurred when applications requested simultaneous access to the camera and microphone during biometric authentication processes.

Other improvements include fixes for visual glitches during app switching, blank screens on the screensaver while charging, and issues with closing locked apps via gestures. The update also addresses system freezes and reboots triggered by scrolling content. Some users on Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 7, and Pixel 9 have reported an upgrade to Linux Kernel 6.12.

Regarding the interface, users noted the removal of the blur effect on lock screen notifications. Developer Mishaal Rahman clarified that this change is a temporary measure taken by the product team to resolve specific bugs, rather than a permanent design decision.
