Googlebooks are a new line of laptops running a version of Android, with prices starting at $899 for the Acer Googlebook 14. Other models include the Dell XPS Googlebook at $999 and the HP Googlebook 14 at $1,300. The Lenovo model, priced at $1,100, features a 15.3-inch display, HDMI port, and USB-A connectivity.

All launch models feature touchscreen displays, aluminum and magnesium chassis, biometric authentication, and large trackpads. The devices include a Glowbar that indicates battery status and AI activation. Keyboards feature a dedicated G button, a revamped function row, and a quick insert key replacing caps lock.

The operating system supports Android 17 integration, allowing users to sync files, notifications, and mirror apps from their phones. However, these features require both devices to be on the same Wi-Fi network. The Files app lacks advanced desktop features like tabs or network share support, and many core services like Drive and Gmail operate as progressive web apps.

AI features include Magic Pointer for interacting with Gemini, the Rambler voice input tool, and Create My Widget for desktop customization. While the Play Store offers Android apps, many are optimized for mobile rather than desktop use. Some professional tools, such as Slack, lack full desktop functionality, and cloud storage services like Dropbox do not support background folder syncing.
