Google Cloud and Accenture have established the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group. This joint unit focuses on deploying engineers to enterprises to assist with the adoption of Google's AI tools and services.
Google will train up to 1,000 of Accenture's forward-deployed engineers (FDEs) to build custom AI applications on the Gemini Enterprise platform. This move follows a similar trend among rivals like OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft, and Amazon, who have also launched dedicated business units for AI implementation.
Google Cloud reported second-quarter revenue of $24.8 billion, with a significant portion driven by enterprise AI. However, Alphabet has accumulated $811 billion in purchase commitments and contractual obligations as of June 30.
According to August data from Ramp, Google holds approximately 6% of enterprise AI spending among U.S. businesses, compared to 43.5% for Anthropic and 39.7% for OpenAI. To address this, Google Cloud previously launched a $750 million partner ecosystem commitment involving consultancies such as Capgemini, Cogniznet and Deloitte.
Google has also entered a multi-year partnership with CVC Capital Partners to deploy FDEs into its portfolio companies. Meanwhile, Accenture has expanded its FDE programs with Microsoft in March, ServiceNow in May, and SAP in June.
