Google has initiated the rollout of the Motion Assist feature for all Android 17 devices. Originally referred to as Motion Cues, this tool is designed to alleviate motion sickness for users who utilize their smartphones while traveling in moving vehicles.

The system functions by detecting vehicle movement through the device's built-in sensors. When active, it displays small, dynamic dots along the screen edges that move in synchronization with the vehicle's turns, acceleration, or braking to align visual perception with physical sensation.

Users can manage the feature via a Quick Settings tile for immediate access without navigating through menus. Additionally, the software allows for customization of the visual cues, enabling users to adjust the color, shape, and opacity of the dots to suit their personal preferences.
