The Good Bear 1.0 browser, based on Firefox 156.0, has been released to provide isolated support for Russian PKI. The project is designed to separate browsing sessions that require Russian root certificates from standard web traffic, ensuring that data, caches, and authentication credentials remain isolated within a specific container.

The browser is available for Ubuntu 24.04 LTS (amd64) and Windows x64. It does not include Russian cryptographic algorithms like GOST or integration with CryptoPro. Instead, it uses the existing Firefox/NSS cryptographic stack, focusing strictly on the isolated application of specific root certificates to prevent global trust issues.

Good Bear 1.0 features a distinct interface with two indicators: a container marker for isolated sessions and a 'RU' indicator when a Russian PKI chain is verified. Password management and autofill are disabled within the isolated container to prevent accidental data leakage between different trust contexts.

The project is distributed under the Mozilla Public License 2.0. The source code is provided as a set of patches for Firefox 156.0 rather than a full repository. The browser does not include automatic updates, digital signatures, or telemetry, requiring users to verify SHA-256 checksums manually upon installation.
