Gnosis has integrated the Ethereum Fast Confirmation Rule (FCR) into its xDAI bridge and Omnibridge. This update, which went live on October 8, 2026, reduces the processing time for deposits from the Ethereum mainnet to Gnosis Chain from approximately 13 minutes to about 13 seconds.
The implementation of FCR allows bridge validators to release funds based on attestation weight rather than waiting for full economic finality. This transition shifts the security threshold from a 33% adversarial requirement to approximately 25%.
The speed improvement applies exclusively to transfers moving from Ethereum to Gnosis. Transactions in the opposite direction continue to rely on standard economic finality, which takes roughly 5 minutes. No changes to user wallets, contracts, or settings are required for this update.
Gnosis deployed the integration ahead of its initial schedule, having documented the plans on September 24, 2026, with an original target for the end of October. The company has introduced public monitors to allow users to verify transaction confirmation status independently.
This rollout is part of a broader roadmap aimed at achieving synchronous composability within the Ethereum Economic Zone. The next planned development for Gnosis is the introduction of atomic cross-chain calls, which ensure that operations across chains either succeed entirely or fail.
