The Japanese company GMO Internet Group has introduced a mobile service unit designed specifically for humanoid robots. Operated by the GMO Air division, this service operates in Tokyo and aims to provide on-site repairs for robots used in commercial settings.

The service utilizes a specially equipped van that carries engineers, tools, and spare parts. In cases where a robot cannot be repaired on-site, the team replaces the damaged unit with a spare robot, allowing the client to continue operations without significant downtime.

The project addresses the growing need for maintenance as humanoid robots become more common in hotels and warehouses. GMO Air developed this model after observing that sending robots to service centers caused operational delays for clients.

Currently, the service relies entirely on human intervention, as the van is driven by a person and repairs are performed by technicians. There is no autonomous robot-to-robot repair capability at this stage of the project.
