GMO AI & Robotics introduced a specialized maintenance vehicle, dubbed the GMO Humanoid Ambulance, on September 8. The company intends to begin operating the service within September. This mobile unit is designed exclusively to support the company's own fleet of humanoid robots rather than serving as a public emergency or repair service.
The vehicle is equipped with diagnostic tools, essential spare parts, and repair equipment. It also carries a replacement humanoid unit. When a robot requires attention, a specialized engineer travels to the site to assess the issue. If immediate repairs are not feasible, the company replaces the malfunctioning robot with the spare unit and transports the original to a dedicated repair facility.
The primary repair hub for the company is located at its Tokyo showroom in Shibuya. According to internal research conducted by the firm in September, this vehicle represents the first instance of a dedicated mobile repair service for humanoid robots in Japan. The company has not announced any plans to offer these services to third parties or establish fixed response times.
