General Motors and Pacific Gas and Electric Company have introduced the Smart Charge Bundle, a new incentive program for electric vehicle owners. The offer is available through participating dealerships and provides customers with a home charging station at no extra cost.

Participants can choose between the GM Energy PowerUp 2 charger or the PowerShift charger. The PowerShift model supports bidirectional charging when used with compatible GM Energy equipment and an electric vehicle. The PowerUp 2 is designed for standard Level 2 charging needs.

The program includes a monthly credit of $15 on PG&E utility bills. Additionally, users can save up to $50 per month by participating in the EV Charge Manager program, which shifts charging to off-peak hours when electricity demand and costs are lower.

The system utilizes grid orchestration software developed by WeaveGrid to manage charging schedules automatically. This technology helps reduce localized strain on the power grid. Customers retain the ability to override managed charging sessions if they need to charge their vehicles immediately.
