The global PC market experienced a 22.4% year-over-year decline in the third quarter, with total shipments reaching 55.35 million units. Analysts at Gartner attribute this downturn to rising prices for DRAM and storage components, which led to higher retail costs for consumers.
Lenovo remains the market leader with a 27.1% share, despite a 22.4% drop in shipments to 14.99 million units. HP Inc. faced the steepest decline among major vendors, with shipments falling 30.9% to 10.37 million units, reducing its market share to 18.7%.
Dell saw its shipments decrease by 25.4% to 7.58 million units, resulting in a 13.7% market share. In contrast, Apple demonstrated resilience with only a 7.1% decline to 5.84 million units, successfully increasing its market share from 8.8% to 10.5%.
Asus and Acer also managed to improve their market positions despite lower shipment volumes. Asus shipments fell 13% to 4.7 million units, while Acer saw an 11.2% drop to 3.87 million units. Both companies increased their respective market shares to 8.5% and 7.0%.
