Glassnode reported on October 26, 2026, that the share of Bitcoin supply held by short-term holders (STH) in profit has declined to approximately 70%. This group is defined as entities holding the asset for less than 155 days.
In late September, nearly 100% of short-term holders were in profit. The recent shift indicates that these investors have moved out of a high-pressure sell zone, as fewer coins are currently changing hands at a profit.
During the reporting period, Bitcoin traded between $80,000 and $82,000. Realized gains decreased relative to realized losses, and the broader supply in profit remained within a 68% to 70% range.
Glassnode notes that profit-taking flows have returned to yearly averages following earlier spikes in October. The firm suggests this normalization may create a more favorable entry point for new buyers.
