Gigabyte has officially confirmed that Intel plans to release new processors compatible with the LGA 1700 socket in early 2027. To prepare for this launch, the manufacturer has already released BIOS updates for its entire range of motherboards based on B760 and H610 chipsets.

These updates cover boards supporting both DDR4 and DDR5 memory standards. Gigabyte claims to be the first manufacturer to provide such support across its entire lineup for these specific chipsets. The new BIOS versions are currently available for download on the company's official support website.

While specific product names were not disclosed in the official announcement, industry reports suggest the upcoming chips may be part of the Core 2000 series. These processors are expected to be an update to the Raptor Lake architecture, with production reportedly scheduled to begin in late January 2027.

Unofficial reports indicate the new lineup could include a 16-core model with a 125 W TDP and a 20-core model with a 65 W TDP. Intel continues to support the LGA 1700 platform due to sustained market demand for systems compatible with DDR4 memory, which remains a cost-effective alternative to newer standards.
