Munich-based Quantum Systems will produce tens of thousands of interceptor drones in Ukraine as part of a German military aid package for winter 2026/2027. This initiative follows a broader push to increase defense cooperation, supported by an additional €1 billion in German military assistance announced on October 4.

ARX Robotics and Ukrainian firm Roboneers have formed a strategic partnership for the joint development and integration of unmanned ground systems. The companies previously established a joint venture, ARX Industries, in June to manufacture Rys Pro vehicles in both Ukraine and Germany, with plans to scale production to tens of thousands of units annually.

The German defense technology sector is seeing a significant influx of capital. Quantum Systems raised a €1 billion Series D round in July, following a €150 million package in February. Other recent funding includes €20 million for INLEAP Photonics and €25 million for SPREAD AI.

ARX Robotics has secured significant funding over recent years, including a €42 million Series A round in 2025. Meanwhile, the Brave Germany program, launched in May, continues to support startups in the defense sector. Since 2023, the Brave1 cluster has awarded over 1,000 grants totaling €122 million.
