Geoscan has unveiled a proprietary navigation system designed for drones operating in large indoor environments. The technology was showcased during the Exporter of the Year award ceremony held at VDNKh. The system enables coordinated light shows using swarms of quadcopters in venues like stadiums and concert halls.
The navigation solution requires a minimum operating area of 8 by 8 meters and provides positioning accuracy within 5 centimeters. The system relies on custom software algorithms alongside proprietary UWB beacons and modules. According to CEO Alexey Yuretsky, the company developed the technology internally due to a lack of suitable market alternatives.
Beyond entertainment, Geoscan intends to utilize this navigation system for educational initiatives. The company has already integrated UWB support into its new Pioneer Mini 2 quadcopter, which features an onboard artificial intelligence processor.
