Gemini has integrated staking for the HYPE token on its platform, allowing customers in most US states to earn an annual yield of approximately 2.1%. The service requires no minimum stake and involves no transfer or redemption fees. Residents of New York are currently excluded from participating in this staking program.

Hyperliquid operates as a Layer 1 blockchain focused on perpetual futures trading, utilizing the HyperBFT consensus mechanism. Currently, about 440 million HYPE tokens are staked, which accounts for 44% of the 1 billion total supply. This level of participation generates an annual return ranging between 2.1% and 2.3% from the network's emissions reserve.

Direct staking on Hyperliquid infrastructure requires a one-day delegation lock followed by a seven-day unstaking queue. Validators are required to maintain a self-delegation of 10 000 HYPE tokens. The network rewards both delegators and validators through its pre-allocated reserve.

Other institutional players have also expanded their HYPE offerings. Kraken introduced staking in June 2026 with rewards reaching up to 2.2% APY, excluding users in New York and Maine. Additionally, Grayscale launched the HYPG ETF on Nasdaq on June 3, 2026, which includes staking rewards and carries a 0.29% sponsor fee.
