Google released its latest frontier model, Gemini 4 Argon, on October 13, 2026. The model is designed for agentic tasks, including coding, spatial reasoning, and physics simulations.

In a public test conducted by researcher Rubens Soto, Gemini 4 Argon generated a 40-second 3D animation of an electric motor. The output consisted of 1,200 frames at 1920x1080 resolution.

The cost of generating this animation with Argon was less than a quarter of the cost incurred by Anthropic’s Claude Opus 5.5, which was released on September 22, 2026.

Argon is priced at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached inputs at $0.10 per million. Claude Opus 5.5 costs $4 and $20 respectively.

Argon achieved scores of 68.9% on the Vals Index and 77.9% on DeepSWE v1.1, ranking at the top of these benchmarks for coding and economic impact tasks.
