Geely Auto has officially launched the Monjaro EM-i hybrid SUV in Egypt, marking the start of a global rollout for its first hybrid D-SUV. The vehicle, which debuted in Cairo on August 29, 2026, is built on the company's GEA Evo platform. It features the EM-i Super Hybrid system, which integrates an electric drive with a 1.5TD engine, and includes advanced interior amenities like the Flyme Auto infotainment system.

The Monjaro EM-i measures 4.8 meters in length with a 2,845 mm wheelbase. The Ultra AWD variant is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.83 seconds. Geely emphasizes that the model is designed to improve driving refinement and comfort, utilizing specialized 11-layer composite seat structures to enhance the passenger experience.

International expansion remains a critical growth driver for Geely. In the first half of 2026, the company exported 474,228 vehicles, representing a 157.6 percent increase compared to the previous year. July exports reached a record 106,663 units, a 202 percent year-on-year surge, even as domestic sales experienced a 29.1 percent decline during the same period.

Following strong export performance, Geely increased its annual export target to 920,000 vehicles, up from the initial goal of 640,000. The company has identified Latin America and Africa, including the Egyptian market, as strategic regions. Geely has set a specific sales target of 200,000 vehicles for these combined markets as it continues to scale its global presence.
