Geely Holding Group has officially expressed its support for the consensus reached during the second regular meeting of the China-EU trade and investment consultation mechanism. The company welcomed the progress made through dialogue, emphasizing the importance of mutual respect and equal consultation in resolving automotive trade disputes.
The agreement focuses on three core principles for hybrid vehicle trade: respect for facts, non-discrimination, and compliance. Geely stated that this framework aligns with WTO rules and addresses the interests of both Chinese and European industries, helping to prevent the escalation of trade friction and stabilizing market expectations.
The consultation took place in Beijing on October 8-9, 2026, between China's Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao and European Commission Executive Vice-President Maros Sefcovic. The parties are continuing discussions on potential tariff reductions for certain goods within the WTO framework.
