The discussion took place during the session titled Oil and Gas Asset 2030: Data, Digital Twins, and Autonomous Operations at the TNF forum. Gazprom Neft currently utilizes digital models and twins for specific production tasks, having integrated these tools into business processes at oil fields.
The company is now exploring the transition to integrated digital twins. This approach aims to combine individual models into end-to-end asset management systems. Such an environment would process data from reservoirs, wells, equipment, and infrastructure simultaneously to inform engineering and operational decisions.
Alexander Sitnikov, head of the Gazprom Neft Scientific and Technical Center, stated that the goal is to create a unified environment that evaluates various field development scenarios. This requires establishing common standards for digital models, uniform rules for industrial data, and high-speed information exchange infrastructure.
The forum also addressed the automation of field operations and drilling processes. Experts emphasized that the level of detail in digital models must align with specific production tasks and account for parameters that directly influence both engineering and economic outcomes.
