Gateron has expanded its Low Profile 3.0 switch series with the new Silent Black linear model. This version is engineered for environments where noise reduction is a priority, utilizing silicone o-rings on the stem components to dampen both bottom-out and top-out sounds.
The new switches maintain the technical specifications of the non-silent Low Profile 3.0 line, featuring an actuation distance of 1.7 mm and a total travel distance of 3.4 mm. The Black variant is the heaviest in the current silent 3.0 lineup, requiring an operating force of 50 gf, with a tolerance of plus or minus 15 gf.
The construction includes a full POM stem, a nylon bottom housing, and a clear polycarbonate top housing, which allows for keyboard backlighting. Each switch comes factory-lubricated to ensure smooth operation.
The Gateron Low Profile Silent 3.0 Black switches are currently available for purchase directly from the manufacturer. Customers can buy a set of 35 switches for $14 or a pack of 110 switches for $44.
