Fujifilm has launched its LTO-10 Ultrium magnetic tape, designed for enterprise data archiving and long-term backup. Each unit offers a native storage capacity of 40TB, which can reach 100TB with 2.5:1 compression. The tape utilizes Barium Ferrite particle technology to enhance storage stability and longevity.

The LTO-10 supports uncompressed data transfer speeds of 440MB/s, rising to 1100MB/s with compression. It features AES-256 encryption and complies with the FIPS 197 standard. The media includes 15,105 independent tracks and maintains a bit error rate of 1 in 10 to the power of 20.

Under optimal conditions, the archival lifespan of the LTO-10 reaches up to 30 years. The product is compatible only with LTO-10 tape drives and libraries, targeting data centers and media archives. It supports repeated write cycles and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

The current market price for the LTO-10 tape is $494, which is lower than the manufacturer's suggested retail price of $888.89. The technology is positioned for organizations managing petabyte-scale data with low access frequency, offering high capacity at a competitive cost.
