British Business Bank has allocated €11 million to Fuel Ventures, a multi-stage venture capital firm. The investment is part of the Regional Angels Programme, which aims to address geographic disparities in early-stage capital access across the United Kingdom.
Fuel Ventures, founded by Mark Pearson, supports companies from pre-seed to Series A stages. The new funding will enable the firm to expand its investment capacity, allowing for both new early-stage deals and follow-on rounds for existing portfolio companies.
The bank has been actively investing in UK venture managers throughout 2026. Recent commitments include €11.5 million to Ascension Ventures, €11 million to SFC Capital, €53.6 million to Zinc Capital Management, and €87 million to Molten Ventures.
Total disclosed commitments from the British Business Bank to various managers this year have reached approximately €417 million. Additionally, the bank has invested over €695 million directly into more than 50 UK science and technology scale-ups.
Since its inception, Fuel Ventures has deployed over €330 million across more than 230 early-stage UK companies. Notable portfolio exits include ContentCal, acquired by Adobe for €129 million, and Capdesk, acquired by Carta for $78 million.
