The FSP Mega GM 1200W is a fully modular power supply unit built on FSP’s proprietary platform. The series includes 850W, 1000W, and 1200W models, all designed to meet ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards. The unit features a native 12V-2x6 connector capable of 600W delivery and utilizes FSP’s MTLC regulation scheme.
The device measures 150 x 150 x 86 mm and is cooled by a 135 mm fluid dynamic bearing fan. Users can toggle a semi-fanless mode via an integrated ECO switch. Internally, the unit uses Japanese capacitors from Nippon Chemi-Con, Rubycon, and Nichicon, alongside Infineon and Greatpower MOSFETs.
Testing shows an average efficiency of 93.0% at 230 VAC and 90.7% at 115 VAC under 25°C ambient conditions. While marketed as 80 PLUS Gold, the unit lacks an entry in the official 80 PLUS database, though it holds Cybenetics Gold and A++ acoustic certifications. Voltage regulation for the 12V rail measured 1.2%.
Under full load at 45°C ambient, the fan noise reaches 55.0 dB(A), while internal temperatures for the secondary heatsink rise to approximately 109°C. Ripple suppression on the 12V rail peaked at 44 mV under full load, remaining within ATX specifications.
