The Freelander 8, the first model from the joint venture between Chery and Jaguar Land Rover, secured over 5,000 firm orders within 12 hours of its debut. These orders involve locked configurations and non-refundable deposits from buyers in China.

The SUV is available in Pro, Max, and Max+ versions, with prices ranging from ¥289 900 to ¥379 900 after incentives. This pricing is ¥20 000 lower than the initial official range and ¥40 000 below the pre-sales price announced in August.

The vehicle features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 610 kW and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds. It is equipped with a 60.3 kWh battery from CATL, offering a CLTC range of 310 kilometers on electricity alone.

Built on an 800-volt 6C platform, the SUV supports fast charging from 20% to 80% in 12 minutes. Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 driver assistance system is included as standard across all trim levels of the lineup.

The Freelander brand, which transitioned to a standalone NEV focus in March 2026, intends to release 6 models over the next 5 years. A left-hand-drive version for the Middle East is planned for late 2026 or early 2027.
